COED Data Requests Overview

The Cato College of Education (COED) Office of Assessment & Accreditation provides access to assessment, survey, and program data for approved institutional, research, and accreditation purposes.

To ensure compliance with university policies, FERPA requirements, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, all data requests must follow established review and approval processes. Request procedures vary depending on whether the requester is a student, faculty member, or staff member and whether the request supports research requiring IRB approval.

The COED Office of Assessment & Accreditation may provide access to data such as:

  • Assessment results (edTPA, CPAST, Praxis, and other program assessments)
  • Survey data
  • Candidate demographic information
  • Program and degree information
  • Other assessment and accreditation-related data, as available

Please note:

  • Most data are provided in a de-identified format.
  • Additional approvals may be required depending on the nature of the request.
  • Research intended for public dissemination generally requires IRB approval.
  • Processing times vary, but requesters should allow a minimum of 10 business days for review and fulfillment once all required documentation has been received.
  • Modifications to requests may extend processing timelines.

The office will assist with documenting data availability and providing supporting materials needed during the IRB review process.

UNC Charlotte College of Education is accredited by CAEP and CACREP.
All licensure programs are approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
